Poured concrete steps take foot traffic and weather, so an M20 (1 : 1.5 : 3) mix gives a durable, hard-wearing result.

1 : 1.5 : 3cement : sand : aggregate
M20 nominal concrete — about 2,900 psi (20 MPa).
